Juniors, seniors, women & girls
Play Cricket
Moonee Valley welcomes cricketers of every age and ability — whether you've played for twenty years or have never held a bat. We field junior teams, senior men's sides and a women's team, all training and playing out of Ormond Park.
Juniors
Our junior teams play in the NWMCA competition on Friday evenings. There's room for players brand new to the game as well as those who've been at it a while.

The bridge into senior cricket — many go straight into our senior sides.
Not sure, or don't see your age group listed? Enquire anyway. Teams are formed each season from the numbers we get, so an enquiry is exactly how a side comes into being — and if we can't place a player ourselves we'll point you to a club who can.
The season starts in early October, breaks over the Christmas holidays, and finishes in March.
The junior program is run by senior players across all levels, and family participation is always welcome — plenty of our parents end up scoring, umpiring or running the barbecue.
Girls are welcome
Our junior sides are mixed, and girls are welcome in every one of them. Girls can also play in an age group below their own where that's a better fit.
If there's enough interest the club will look at fielding girls-only teams — let us know if that's something you'd want for your daughter, because numbers are exactly what makes it happen.
Moving into seniors
Older juniors can step up into senior cricket and play alongside senior players — one of the better parts of a club that runs juniors and seniors side by side.
Seniors
We field senior sides across a range of grades, so there's a level to suit whether you're chasing competitive turf cricket or a relaxed hit on a Sunday.
- Men
Senior Men's
Saturday and Sunday afternoons across turf and hard wicket, from openers to social cricketers.
- Women
Senior Women's
Sunday afternoons on hard wicket. New players genuinely welcome — several started with us.
We also field a side in the Mid Year Cricket Association's winter competition — see fixtures & results for how the current season is going.
Training
All training is at Ormond Park, Pattison Street, Moonee Ponds, weeknights in the lead-up to and through the season.
Enquire about playing
New and returning players are always welcome — juniors, seniors, men's and women's. Send an enquiry and it goes straight to the club; we'll put you with the right coach or the junior co-ordinator.
