Wardy's now wed
Wardy's wed!
Congratulations to Moonee Valley's Stephen Ward on his wedding in December.
Wardy's nuptials, and his preceding buck's night out, meant a fair bit of juggling with the Moonee Valley teams as we needed to ensure that we weren't left short of players.
Mission accomplished - both with the juggling and with Wardy's marriage to Fiona.
It's part of the reason why we haven't seen Wardy on the playing field quite as often this season - as we all know that he is keen to pull on the whites at every opportunity.
As well as captaining our inaugural Winter Comp team, Stephen captained the Seconds for the 2012/13 season. He was always first to put his hand up to play a second game on a Sunday, and was also inked in for every Twenty20 fixture.
Now he's officially got other responsibilities - but we're sure Wardy will be building on his games tally at Moonee Valley after Christmas - and will continue to be the committed clubman he's been since joining us from Sydenham Hillside some four seasons ago. Congratulations from all of us!
