Training this week - from the Coach

9 March 2020 · Tony Gleeson

Greetings Moonee Valley players and supporters.

One to go.

Congratulations to the Fifths on their resounding Grand Final win last Saturday.

Congratulations also to the Firsts on the work they put in to get us through to the Grand Final, and we have been rewarded with a home game in the match that matters.

We want as many players as possible to come down and continue training with the squad as we work towards the Grand Final - and not just the players who are in contention for selection.

The more support we've got out on the track - batting, bowling, fielding and making training as professional as possible, the better off we all are in striving towards a flag.

Training is on from 5.30pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week, and I expect the players in the mix to attend at least two of those sessions.

Heath Webb-Johnson's funeral is on Thursday. We will still be running training. Training will be out on the track until around 6.30m, and then we'll head over to the bowls club for a bit of fun and enjoyment at barefoot bowls before going back to the clubrooms around 7.30 to announce the GF team.

We're also keen on a strong supporter base across the four days of the Grand Final, so please try and ensure you're down at Ormond Park as much as possible to cheer on our team.

Tony Gleeson.
