Garland gallops away

Our "other" popular UK import, Kris Garland, is heading off this Friday to return to sunny England - or at least we hope it's sunny for him at this time of the year.

To celebrate his time in the Colonies and for a chance to farewell his mates, Kris has organised drinks this Wednesday, June 29 at his favored watering hole, the Union Jack Hotel Union Hotel.

Friends and wellwishers should arrive at the pub, on the corner of Maribyrnong Rd and Union Rd, Ascot Vale, about 7-7.30pm. The gathering will be in the sports bar, up the stairs off Union Rd.

While he's going home to England, we have already formulated a crafty plan to get Kris - known to some at our Club as Kristie - back in 12 months, hopefully for a longer stint.

Seriously though, Kris has been a terrific clubman and a pleasure to have around the place, and we should all come along on Wednesday to wish him well and send him on his way.
